Brian Choate dental optometric practice advisor

Brian Choate, Founder and Principal Partner

Brian Choate is the founder of Practice Advisors 360. He has more than 15 years of extensive experience representing healthcare professionals and providing market analysis, financial modeling, and valuation analytics for medical practices. In addition, Brian has financial solution expertise with over $350 million in practice loans delivered. As a direct provider of financial solutions to practitioners, he has managed territories in the northeast for Healthcare Professional Funding and Citizens Bank Healthcare Platform, and in the southwest for GE Healthcare Financials Services. In these roles, Brian provided direct representation in defining and implementing capital strategies and banking relationships for practices. He has developed a specialization in providing practice solutions to professionals in the dental, eye care, and veterinary fields.

Previously, Brian led the financial services division of Dental Wealth Partners (DWP), a management services provider for dental professionals. The financial services division of DWP supports dental practitioners in development of business plans, transition strategies, capital procurement, and optimal debt structuring. He has established “preferred provider” relationships with an extensive network of state-wide and national lenders, providing advantageous project financing programs for Dental Wealth Partners’ clients.

Upon leaving GE Healthcare Financials Services, Brian founded Choate Capital Consulting to provide strategic plans to help healthcare professionals access capital and manage their practices. Choate Capital was the initial acquisition of Dental Wealth Partners, where Brian led the financial services division of the management services company. He has served as a guest lecturer for dental and optometric programs at the University of Houston, the Tufts University Dental School, and the dental program of NYU.

Brian received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Framingham State University.

Christopher Maiorana, Partner

Specialty / Concentration: Demographic Analysis, Financing, Asset Management, Customer Relations

A partner with Practice Advisors 360, Chris works directly with doctors, providing demographic and site analysis for practice expansions, relocations or for starting new practices. He will help doctors choose the best possible location for their practices and will continue to work closely with them to provide financial solutions to meet their practice goals.

Prior to becoming a partner at Practice Advisors 360, Chris worked with global asset management companies such as John Hancock Financial Services, Morgan Stanley and Sun Life Financial. A graduate of Bryant University, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with concentrations in both finance and economics.

In addition, Chris also serves as a board member with Children’s Wishes of Rhode Island.

He lives in Rhode Island with his wife and two boys.

Michael White, CPA Founder and Senior Partner

Michael White is the founder and senior partner of MWA and DME. Michael honed his skills in large corporate environments, including work as an auditor at PwC and a senior accountant at a regional bank. His cumulative experience taught him the value of the forecasting process and inspired the model which DME and MWA currently deliver to their small to mid-size business clients.


J. Austin Wheeler, Senior Vice President

Austin serves as Senior Vice President at Phelps Commercial Realty, and he works with medical professionals to identify the best locations for opening their practices. He also negotiates on their behalf to secure the best terms and conditions for their leases.




Throughout his career, Austin has completed over 300,000 square feet of transactions totaling more than $72 million in value. Over the past six years, Austin has specialized in representing tenants with lease negotiations, land acquisitions and building acquisitions. During this time, Austin has been involved with opening over 150 practices for doctors. He has helped several notable tenants open their offices including Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics, Texas Health Resources, Digestive Health Associates, Rheumatology Associates, Legacy Dental, Happy Teeth Dental, and Ideal Dental.

Austin is a frequent guest lecturer at the Texas Dental Association Baylor College of Dentistry, where he speaks about the process of finding the best location for starting a practice. In addition, Austin has also helped start and manage two successful dental practices in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area.


Austin received a bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University. He continued his education at Southern Methodist University, where he  completed the Graduate Finance Program from the Cox School of Business.
